Information We Collect
When you fill out a contact form or request an estimate on our website, we collect the information you provide, including your name, phone number, email address, property address, and details about your service request. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry and provide the services you've requested.
We also automatically collect limited interaction data when you use our website, including pages viewed, the buttons you click, scroll depth, the page that referred you, your general device type and browser, and an anonymous identifier from our analytics provider. We use this data to understand how the site is performing, to improve content, and to support marketing measurement and remarketing campaigns.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to:
- Respond to your service inquiries and estimate requests
- Schedule and perform tree services
- Communicate with you about your project
- Follow up on completed work
- Measure the performance of our marketing campaigns and website
- Show relevant ads on Google, Facebook, and other platforms (remarketing)
Financing Through Wisetack
We partner with Wisetack to offer optional financing for tree work. Wisetack is an independent third-party financing platform; loans are originated by Wisetack's lending partners (Hatch Bank and U.S. Bank National Association). DC Tree Cutting is not a lender, does not make credit decisions, and does not see your full credit application.
When you click a financing button on our website (for example, "Check Your Options" or "Pay Over Time"), we record that interaction in our website analytics and may use it to measure marketing performance and to show you relevant ads later. The click sends you to Wisetack's website, where you complete the prequalification or financing application directly with Wisetack. We do not see your credit information, the amount you prequalify for, or the terms you are offered.
Wisetack has its own privacy policy that governs what they collect from you on their site. You can review it at https://www.wisetack.com/privacy.
Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking Technologies
We use the following tools to measure website performance, attribute conversions, and improve our marketing:
- Google Analytics 4 / Google Tag Manager / Google Ads - page views, engagement events, scroll depth, form submissions, and remarketing. GA4 retains analytics identifiers for 14 months by default.
- Facebook Pixel (client-side) and Facebook Conversions API (server-side) - when you submit a form on our website, we send a hashed version of your email address, phone number, IP address, and browser information to Meta/Facebook via a server-side connection for conversion attribution and ad optimization. This is in addition to the client-side Facebook Pixel that tracks page views and click events.
- Microsoft Clarity - records anonymized session interactions including mouse movements, clicks, scroll behavior, and page navigation to help us diagnose usability issues. Clarity does not capture passwords, credit card numbers, or other sensitive form field contents. Clarity retains session data for approximately 30 days. You can opt out via your browser's Do Not Track setting. See Microsoft's privacy statement.
- CallRail - tracks inbound phone calls by displaying a tracking number on our website (Dynamic Number Insertion). Calls to these tracking numbers may be recorded for quality assurance and attribution purposes. Call recordings are retained for 90 days. If you do not wish to be recorded, you may request to not be recorded at the start of the call.
- Cloudflare Turnstile - protects our forms from automated submissions. Turnstile may collect minimal technical signals (browser environment, challenge result) to verify you are a real visitor. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
These tools place cookies and similar identifiers on your device. Some of these identifiers may be used to show you our ads on other websites and platforms (remarketing).
You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time:
- Google Ads: adssettings.google.com
- Facebook: facebook.com/adpreferences
- Industry-wide opt-out: optout.aboutads.info
You can also block cookies through your browser settings. Note that this may break some site functionality (forms, phone tracking).
Your State Privacy Rights
If you live in California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), or Utah (UCPA), you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you
- Request a copy of that information
- Request that we delete it
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising
- Correct inaccurate information
To exercise any of these rights, email us at now@dctreecutting.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will respond within 45 days.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do share certain interaction data (such as hashed email, IP address, and browsing activity) with Google, Facebook, and other advertising platforms for the purpose of remarketing and conversion attribution. Under California law (CCPA/CPRA), this may be considered "sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising."
To opt out of this sharing, email now@dctreecutting.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share." We will suppress advertising-platform data sharing for your account within 15 business days. You can also enable the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, which we honor as a valid opt-out request for California residents.
Information Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your contact information to third parties. We share information with trusted service providers who help us operate our business and website, so long as those parties agree to keep it confidential. Examples include:
- Jobber (CRM, scheduling, invoicing)
- Wisetack (optional financing - only when you choose to use it)
- CallRail (phone call tracking and call recording)
- Google (Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager)
- Meta/Facebook (client-side Pixel and server-side Conversions API for ad attribution)
- Microsoft Clarity (session recording and analytics)
- Cloudflare (website hosting, security, and Turnstile bot protection)
Data Retention
We retain form submission data (name, phone, email, address, service request) in our CRM for 3 years after the last customer interaction. Google Analytics identifiers are retained for 14 months. Microsoft Clarity session recordings are retained for approximately 30 days. CallRail call recordings are retained for 90 days. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing now@dctreecutting.com.

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your browsing experience, measure analytics, and support marketing. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences. Disabling cookies may affect certain features of the site.
