Stump removal + rough grading after clearing

Minimum job charge: $2,500-$3,000. Includes crew, equipment, and debris hauling.

We don't buy standing timber or pay to clear your land.

We get this question a lot. Land clearing is a service we charge for, not a timber purchase. We bring the crew, excavator, mulcher, and grapple truck to turn overgrown property into usable land. The cost covers equipment, labor, hauling, and disposal. If your property has valuable timber, contact a timber buyer or forester before clearing to harvest what has value first.

Forestry mulching grinds standing brush and small trees into mulch in a single pass. No hauling, no burn piles. Per-acre cost drops 15 to 25% on multi-acre jobs because equipment deployment is a one-time cost.

$2,500 - $4,000

Per Acre (3+ acres)

$2,400 - $2,700

Medium brush & saplings

What Affects Your Price

Tree Size & Species

A 30-foot pine costs less to remove than an 80-foot oak. Hardwoods are denser, heavier, and take more time.

Location & Access

Trees near structures, power lines, or fences require more careful rigging. Tight access means smaller equipment and more labor.

Condition & Risk

Dead, leaning, or storm-damaged trees are unpredictable and require extra safety precautions.

Cleanup & Hauling

We always clean up. But the volume of debris affects the number of grapple truck loads needed.

Pricing FAQ

Why are your prices higher than some competitors?
We carry general liability, workers' compensation, AND commercial auto insurance on every job. Many tree services in Eastern NC carry only liability or skip insurance entirely. Based on 200+ completed jobs, our pricing reflects the cost of doing the job legally, safely, and completely - W-2 employees paid above market, commercial equipment, full cleanup and haul-off included, and three insurance policies. The companies quoting 40% less are cutting costs somewhere, usually insurance, cleanup, or both. Our pricing is not the cheapest. It is the real cost of professional tree work done right.
How do you determine the price for tree removal?
We look at the tree's size (height and diameter), species, location relative to structures and power lines, accessibility for equipment, and whether you want the stump ground. We provide a firm quote after a free on-site assessment - no surprises.
Do you charge for estimates?
Never. Every estimate is free and comes with zero obligation. We'll come to your property, assess the job, and give you an honest price.
What does the grapple truck day rental include?
The $1,900 day rental covers 8 hours port-to-port (from the time the truck leaves our yard until it returns). The truck comes with an operator. You're responsible for dump fees at whatever facility you direct us to.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. We partner with Wisetack to make flexible monthly payment options available on tree work between $500 and $25,000. You can prequalify in about a minute on your phone with no impact to your credit score and see your spending power before you commit. Prequalifying is optional and there is no obligation. See our financing page for full details.
Is there a minimum charge?
We have a minimum service charge for very small jobs to cover mobilization costs. This varies by service type and location. We'll always tell you upfront before any work begins.
Do you buy standing timber or pay to clear land?
No. This comes up on almost every land clearing call. We are a land clearing service, not a timber buyer. We charge to clear your property because the job requires heavy equipment, a crew, hauling, and disposal. If you think your trees have lumber value, talk to a consulting forester or timber buyer first. They can harvest the sellable wood before we come in to clear the rest.
What's the difference between forestry mulching and land clearing?
Forestry mulching grinds standing brush and small trees (up to 6-8 inch diameter) into mulch that stays on the ground. No hauling needed. Land clearing removes everything down to bare dirt: large trees, stumps, brush, with full debris hauling. For overgrown lots with mostly brush and saplings, mulching is faster and cheaper. For lots with large trees or where you need bare ground for construction, you need land clearing.
